Date: January 14, 2020

Time: 6pm-7pm

Location: CASA Office

Presenter: Safe Kids Oklahoma

Topic: Safe Kids Oklahoma City Metro assists in keeping Oklahoma kids safe. Based on the needs of the community, this coalition implements evidence-based programs. We will learn about child passenger safety, safe sleep and drowning. Kim Gray will provide statistics and tip sheets for each topic. Come get your hours in early this year!!!!

Time: 6pm-7pm

Location: CASA Office

Presenter: Lutheran Church Charities

Topic: Comfort Dog - One of our own CASA volunteers, Keith Leimbach, will have his comfort dog in attendance. Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dogs are working animals, trained to interact with people of all ages and circumstances who are suffering and in need. The dogs participate in scheduled and special events. Come learn how these dogs can help comfort our CASA kids.

Presenter: Oklahoma Successful Adult Program (OKSA)

Topic: The OKSA program provides youth development funds, independent living services and much more for youth in foster care ages 14 or older. You don't want to miss this one if you work with older kiddos!

Time: Friday, 9am - 4:30pm; Saturday, 8am - 12:30pm

Location: Embassy Suites in Norman

Voices for Children Conference: this is the state wide CASA conference held each year. There will be break out topics presented by a variety of experts in their field that pertains to our CASA cases.

 

Date: April 9, 2020

Time: 6pm-7pm

Location: CASA Office

Speaker: Talk Saves Lives

Topic: This is an introductory-level suicide prevention training that would be great for our volunteers regardless of ones level of experience with mental health. This training  covers the general scope of suicide and what we can do to prevent suicide.
